Have you checked the UT listings? If you can stand the commute, you might be able to find something that would work for you -- Tech Writer 2 or 3, or a Communications Coordinator position (which sounds admin-ish from the title, but is a writer job that can pay quite well). Depending on the department, the work can be more varied and interesting than what you might find in high-tech.
