Happy Birthday, pentapus!
Happy birthday, kiddo! May the coming year bring you much happiness and success!
The swap meet at the Gem & Mineral Society was a success, despite the fact that the wind blew very hard all day and it was very chilly. I managed to get rid of quite a bit of my old bead stash and all of the display stuff I no longer use. I acquired: 2 years of Lapidary Arts for $10, ~20 teeny, tiny cut and polished "tabasco" geodes that will go into jewelry for $75, a gorgeous purple crystal vug from Morocco for $10 that I'm going to use for display, several big quartz lumps I traded beads and half a big geode for with three 8-year-old entrepreneurs, and a nice black agate slab with a drusy pocket, just the right size for wire wrapping, given to me by an older lady who was flattered by my enthusiastic admiration of her collection. I did not make it to the company picnic that evening--I had already been outside all day, thank you very much, and I didn't see much point in driving for a half an hour for mediocre barbeque and more wind. (Plus, lots of annoying kids.)

dremiel bought the necklace and earrings she has been drooling over admiring since the Celebrations show on St. Patrick's day, so my weekend was a success. I even made one of my huge pots of spaghetti sauce last night, so I won't have to do much cooking this week!
