The swap meet at the Gem & Mineral Society was a success, despite the fact that the wind blew very hard all day and it was very chilly. I managed to get rid of quite a bit of my old bead stash and all of the display stuff I no longer use. I acquired: 2 years of Lapidary Arts for $10, ~20 teeny, tiny cut and polished "tabasco" geodes that will go into jewelry for $75, a gorgeous purple crystal vug from Morocco for $10 that I'm going to use for display, several big quartz lumps I traded beads and half a big geode for with three 8-year-old entrepreneurs, and a nice black agate slab with a drusy pocket, just the right size for wire wrapping, given to me by an older lady who was flattered by my enthusiastic admiration of her collection. I did not make it to the company picnic that evening--I had already been outside all day, thank you very much, and I didn't see much point in driving for a half an hour for mediocre barbeque and more wind. (Plus, lots of annoying kids.)

And [personal profile] dremiel bought the necklace and earrings she has been drooling over admiring since the Celebrations show on St. Patrick's day, so my weekend was a success. I even made one of my huge pots of spaghetti sauce last night, so I won't have to do much cooking this week!
