Wraith Hand! Nom nom nom nom

Stitches came out last Wednesday, and the dried dead skin around the incision is coming off. *squints* Looks like a Wraith hand. *contemplates drawing teeth on my palm*

Will post glass pictures tonight or tomorrow.

The Sweet Charity lanyard I sent to the UK in early May? Finally got there. The book I ordered from Amazon.co.uk? Arrived here in 5 days. *is boggled*

Off to glass-blowing class.

As a consumer I love Amazon. As someone who often ships publications for a small non-profit I HATE IT!!! My members honestly expect to get their orders on 'Amazon time'. I've had people place orders online on a Friday evening and call to complain that they don't have them on the following Monday afternoon. Had they actually read the website they would have known that we ship on Tuesdays and Fridays* and that the transit time on (domestic) Media Mail is 6-10 business days. I don't have warehouses all over the country, shipping clerks 'round the clock, and a multi-million dollar deal with UPS. I have me, some boxes, and lots of other things to do.

If you want me to ship everyday I'll be raising your dues. Oh, you just want me to ship YOUR package the day you order it, not the other 50+ orders for the week. Got it. No.

*unless you pay the very nominal fee for Priority Mail, which almost nobody does because they think they'll get it in two days anyway.
