Things I Learned this Weekend

Thunderstorms are much more pleasant when experienced from the comfort of your dry, warm house or car. Dealing with them while loading your car after an outdoor show? Not so much.
Show volunteers who disappear at the first few drops of said thunderstorm? Suck.

I'm just thankful for the fact that I 1) had everything packed before the rain hit, so nothing that couldn't afford to get wet got wet (including me); 2) had a tent so stuff stayed dryish while I schlepped everything across the mud to my car; and 3) there was no hail and the wind wasn't too bad. But scary is taking down a metal-framed tent set up under a very large tree when you can feel the thunder under your feet after some strikes.
But sales were decent, the music was great (Hello! I love living in a town where a neighborhood association festival can get Bruce Robison and Abra Moore to play!), and the food was excellent: Dog Almighty hot dogs and Amy's Ice Cream.
The tent sides are drying on the patio, along with my squishy-foam-jigsaw-floor tiles (I'm sure there is a word for them). The tent itself dried out yesterday in the nice calm sunshine. And my feet hurt. So does my back, my shoulders...going in to the doc today to get my carpal tunnel diagnosed. On my jewelry-making hand, of course.
And my TiVo arrived today so I can pick it up at the office and spend the next few days playing with my toy. (Along with $200 of silver wire. This is only 11 ounces plus one necklace....good doG, my materials cost for silver has almost doubled in 12 months. Sheesh.)
