ArmadilloCon, Day 2
Aug. 15th, 2009 08:44 pmDay 1 (yesterday) was pretty boring--I got up late, finished some pieces*, loaded the car, and set up at the hotel. No sales, but sales on Friday at ArmadilloCon are always a bonus. Friday is for catching up on gossip and buying any books by the guests that you don't already have. I went to dinner with Brad and Cindy, a totally awesome couple (he's an artist; I've known them for years), came back and went through the art show (danger! danger!), went home and made some more bracelets.
It was a nice day, even though I had to keep my hoodie over my legs--I'm under one of the vents and it was a little like being under an ice-cold waterfall all day. Sold some pieces, collected compliments. (I like collecting compliments; they never get stale and they always make me feel better.) I got enough comments on the nautilus necklace that it looks like I'll be making it into a production piece. Now I want to do a jellyfish as well.
Practiced restraint in the book-buying department--only 3 so far. Put one of my enameled pendants into the charity auction, and now I want to find out how it did. Saw

Hope your Saturday was great!
* Why I always do some pieces at the last minute is a continuing mystery. I always do it, and they never ever sell. Not at that show anyway.
