I had brunch this morning at Hoovers with a B and A, a lovely couple that I know through my buddies in Boston. They are passing through on their way to Houston and then Atlanta. So I invited them to brunch, where we wound up talking for over an hour. Then I talked them into going to Gordough's, a truly sinful made-to-order doughnut place, where they will put all sorts of evil things on your fried dough. (I'm partial to the cinnamon and sugar; we also had a chocolate raspberry one). We proceeded to talk for about another hour. Then we hugged, parted ways, and I finally got my butt into the workshop.

Well, I had to pull a lot of weeds first. We've had a cool, rainy spring here in Central Texas, and the weeds have been very appreciative. They were crowding all over the sidewalk and I disrupted many a pillbug/enormous snail habitat with abandon, since I had my gardening gloves in the car.

I did some cleanup and then spent a peaceful couple of hours cleaning and de-burring metal so I can enamel it later in the week. I have a show May 8, and next Saturday I will (finally! finally!) be taking a copper etching class. I need to make a large handful of enameled pieces for that show, and for my slowly-evolving/creating Etsy store. They are selling!
