My Saturday, let me show you it
Nov. 13th, 2010 09:35 pmSlept quite late. As usual on the weekend, Spencer the Cat woke me up by tromping on me in his passive-aggressive "Silly human, wake up!" way. Apparently me sleeping late puts his schedule right out of whack.
Was a slug, reading fic, for a large chunk of the day. Did some cleaning (not much), balanced the checkbook and paid bills. Also ordered some things I'll need for making jewelry and I'll be placing the metal order tonight. *winces* Silver has gotten really outrageous; I'm glad I also work in bronze and copper. But I am ordering some gold-filled wire, since I have the money for it right now, and it looks lovely on certain stones.
Did my Big Box Store shopping. I now have my White Elephant gifts for work. Plus a battery-operated/rechargeable Coleman lantern that I'm going to charge up tonight and see how bright it is, since I want to use it in my tent at the Wheatsville festival. We have no electricity at that show and since it's in early December, it can be cloudy and it gets dark early.
Looked at a new tent. I'm considering replacing my old one with another brand, since the new one has a waterPROOF top and not a water REPELLENT top. It makes a difference, let me tell you. *glares at any rainclouds passing by*
I also glommed a bunch of stocking stuffers at the mall while I was waiting for my watch band to be replaced*. Hot Topic is a great shop for things like that, plus the kids working the store greatly admired my Comic Con t-shirt. :-)
*It's a Swatch that I love dearly, and I broke the buckle on it months ago. I finally called Swatch customer service, and they transferred me to their shop in Grand Central Station (in, you know, New York City!) which was the only shop in the US with a band that matched my watch. They sent it to me promptly and didn't seem surprised at the request so I'm guessing this sort of thing happens quite often. But I finally got it put on tonight so now I have 3 watches to choose from. :-)
