I heart my nephew
Jan. 22nd, 2011 08:16 pmToday I ordered new lenses for my hideously expensive titanium frames. They cost as much as an entirely new set of glasses did from Cotstco. o_O But when they come back I'll have two pairs of useful glasses for the first time ever.
My nephew came over this afternoon to help me out with my washing machine. (It had not been getting any water.) We pulled the machine out and replaced the hoses--success! He even swept out behind the machines.
After we put the machine back, he looked up and said, "Hey, I still need to change out the hydraulic cylinders in your hatchback!" And he did. Then I took him out for ice cream and we had a nice talk. (We were ambushed by Girl Scouts with cookies, but I avoided potential weight gain by buying 4 boxes...to be sent to troops overseas.)
So I can now wash my clothes without saving up quarters and I can keep the back door of my wagon open without using a broom as a prop. A couple of little annoyances removed.
Now I'm busy cleaning, since my sister-in-law just texted me and said she's coming over tomorrow to help me rearrange the living room furniture. And I'm cleaning coinage so it can be used to make jewelry (I soak it in soapy ammonia and then rinse; it sure makes a difference in the appearance later.).
MY KILN ARRIVES ON MONDAY I AM SO HAPPY!
What are y'all doing?
