Saturday morning
Apr. 9th, 2011 10:51 amI should be in the workshop, but I'm waiting here for the highly-recommended appliance repairman (who delightfully is named Mike Holmes!). The washer is only getting a trickle of cold water, and I really don't need to be boiling my clothes. Normally, I would pull the frakking thing out of the closet on my patio and diagnose it myself, but I don't want to put the strain on my "70-year-old" knee. Which is itching like crazy today! Guess that means it's healing! (Or I have a colony of parasites living in it, you choose.)
I took all my silver scrap plus a bunch of old jewelry (thanks, tehomet!) to my local jewelry supplier. They paid me 0.91/GRAM for it, so I came out with a very nice check. Going to use some of it at the coin show if the appliance guy doesn't take too long. Or cost too much.
I decided to bow out of the Swap Meet and the "Kanine Karnival". I don't need the hassle of hauling a tent and weights today, and three shows on three consecutive weekends is not what I'd call a good time. Two is plenty, especially when one is the day before Mother's Day. (Note: make many more pendants with hearts on them.)
One of my coworkers is moving back to Vermont and has offered me her chest of drawers and her dresser. Now I just need to rearrange the bedroom. Guess I better finally move all my bins for shows out of there and into the back room--which means I need to finally clear it out as well.
Hey! Repairman is here. Sadly, he is not tall, blond, and Canadian. :-)
