Well, it's over and I'm back at work, but I'm taking Monday off and I already have Tuesday off, so two short weeks in a row FTW!
Saw The Hobbit. Loved it. Saw it in 48 FPS 3D. Loved it again.
Got Christmas presents and cards mailed off.
Last shows of the year went OK, even though my tent tried to eat my friend L's hand.
Got my commission piece finished and to the recipient's husband.
Finished wacky nerd presents on the 21st. Still haven't finished distributing them.
Had Christmas. Strike that; had FOUR Christmases:
1. At the in-laws. Gave and received many gift cards. Gave presents to very pregnant niece-in-law. Received my usual hilariously inappropriate gift from grandpa-in-law....Estee Lauder perfume set. LOL. (23rd)
2. At the brother's house. Stockings were filled. (We get kind of competitive about stockings...) Omelets made by The Nephew and home made eggnog and bacon. (24th morning)
3. At L&J's house. Gifts exchanged, ham and sides and cherry pie eaten. (24th evening)
4. At the sister-in-laws. More omelets, again made by the nephew. Presents exchanged. (25th morning)
...why yes, there is a divorce pending. :-(
Bit the bullet and reserved a place with airbnb.com in San Antonio for WorldCon next August. The commute from my side of Austin to downtown San Antonio is at least 1.5 hours, so staying in SA was for the best. Now if they would just get the dealer's info up on the website...
Came home from the last Christmas celebration to find the power out in my apartment. After checking that yes, they knew and had a crew on the way, I settled in and excavated/cleaned my desk area. Got it finished just as the power came back on. Now I'm slowly but surely reclaiming the apartment from my filth.
I was supposed to interview a potential personal trainer at the Y tonight but he had a family emergency come up, so I'm meeting him Monday. (Sister-in-law is getting me personal trainer! Woo!)
