Well, my drafting chair wasn't over at the Bunker, but I got lucky on Freecycle and found another one. Even if it's not quite tall enough I can add a cushion...

Went to the dentist this morning, and he says I need a crown. This will make...3? I lost count after 2 and a couple of root canals. I take care of my teeth pretty obsessively, but these are all from fillings that were done when I was about 8 or 9. (My town's water supply had crazy high levels of fluoride until then, and after they lowered it to "regular" levels I got several cavities.) And he wants to make it gold. *winces* It's a back tooth that gets a lot of pressure. Anyone out there have any opinions?

At some point on the way back to work, my water mug tipped over and I didn't notice for several minutes. It took me several more minutes to realize the one thing that got soaked was my iPod. *sigh* I took it to a repair place, since the "put it in a bag of rice" idea seemed kind of iffy. Plus the humidity here is pretty high. The tech says he'll look at it tomorrow. Man, I hope it's OK. I really don't want to replace it. Especially so close to Comic Con.

I watched the last episode of Game of Thrones tonight. I knew how it was going to end and I still got actual chills. Man.

I freaking love GoT. Love it to death. When the author bloke finishes the series, I swear I will read them all, even though I swore off Epic Fantasy novel series when I was a tiddler.

Sorry to hear about the iPod, not to mention your tooth.

If you trust your dentist, odds are he's already aware of how much pressure a gold crown can take before it warps. I have a ceramic-and-gold crown on one of my molars that hasn't given me any trouble in the last three years since I got it.

As for the iPod: putting dampened electronics in a bag of (uncooked) rice will help to draw out the moisture from the various eensy internal bits, but I think if the liquid reached the motherboard and shorted anything out, it won't actually help it work again.

I hope your tech can fix it, too!

They have some new super ceramic stuff for crowns, which is what I had to get because I broke several with the power of my angry jaw clenching.
