Estate sales rock

I really love estate sales.
Purchased: 1 hammer, $1. 1 rawhide hammer, $1. 1 meat tenderizing hammer, $1 (to be used for texturing metal). A jewelry saw frame, $2. Tool for setting stones, $1. Firebrick, $1. Wooden spoon, .40. 5 double clip things, $1 for all. 1 brita filter, $2. Small (about 12" high) tri-fold screen, $2. 1/2 large septarium nodule $10. Nice blue paperweight, $12. Large blue wheeled suitcase, $5. 2 sheets of copper (20 ga.?) .80. 1 Bisquik cookbook, $1. Paperback of Resume with Monsters, .60
And the 2 expensive things are rare for me but were great buys, the nodule is going to be a decorative thingie for my jewelry display and the paperweight is a friend's Christmas present. The double clip things will also be display things if I can get my idea to work, if not, they go to the local used office supply/furniture place in trade for paper or something. If I can get rid of the annoying scrollwork inside the screen thing without destroying it, I'll have a decent copper/bronze bracelet display rack.
I sweated like crazy--it was in the 90's and the only AC in the building is a lot of fans. Sometimes I don't get anything at these, but I kinda hit the motherlode on this one. I really should have hit the tools first--there had to have been a lot more jewelry tools there before I got to them. I wasted way too much time debating on whether or not to get a truly hideous green shag footstool that looked vaguely like a mushroom, but wiser heads (i.e.,my friends Brenda and Mike) prevailed. And I may go back tomorrow when everything is 1/2 off, as there were some prints I was interested in.

And you know how there's this one weekend? The one where everything is happening at once? Mine is the first weekend in November. TWO of my shows are scheduled against each other (I've already juried into one, but damn.) --and so is World Fantasy 2006. Which is being held in Austin. Where I live. And I've already committed to volunteering in the green room.
Why isn't there successful cloning yet? Or better yet, a real time-turner?
