lillian13My best friend, Thomas, just let me know that his younger brother Michael died of a heart attack last night. I'm not sure how old Michael was, but if it was over 40 I'd be suprised.
I didn't know him particularly well, but he was my best friend's little brother. He had a dry sense of humor and was a smart guy. I keep remembering how nervous he was when Thomas got married--he almost forgot the rings when I went to pick him up!
Crap. What a way to start the week. I keep getting weepy, and I think most of it is sympathy tears for Thomas. But I knew Mike, he was younger than me, and if he'd taken better care of himself he'd still be alive.
Boss has said I can take some time off today. I might, but I should save that for later in the week, to help out Thomas and his wife, who are flying in tomorrow.
