Well, I sat through the World's Most Boring Graduation Ceremony to see the Nephew (and a cousin) graduate from high school. (I thanked the World's Best Niece afterwards, for graduating early and skipping hers.) How could I not have fun when the class motto was "Hakuna Matata"?

I kid you not. It was painful. And they misspelled Thoreau in the program book. On Sunday the WBN, her mother, and I all went to see Iron Man again. WBN needed cheering up, as her boyfriend broke up with her. However, I am still behind

Sunday, I went to a shindig at a place in town called The Work*shop, where you can make crafty things and buy crafty things. I keep thinking I should get involved with them, and then I go by, and...no*. Sorry. If I wanted to buy ceramics or plates or glass and paint on it and sell it, I'd be doing that. Or putting mosaics on picture frames. I admit to being a bit of a snob, but when did "rainy-day" crafts like that become something folks would pay money for? I'm working very hard to become a decent jeweler, hand problems and all, and it gets me down when I see someone taking old vinyl records and heating them over forms in an oven to make planters. And selling them. Where's the artistry in that? There are some very good artists displaying there, don't get me wrong. I guess I'm not much of a "crafter", whatever that is these days. Artisan, maybe?

And threadless is having another sale! Christmas presents ahoy! (I'm getting the Fish Tank shirt for the brother-in-law.)

* The one time I participated in one of their holiday sales I sold dismally, since you can't re-create what I do in 3 hours at your kitchen table. Well, I can at my table, but I digress. My idea of a "craft" class is taking an off-hand glass blowing class. I see a LOT of presents coming out of it, if I can pick up the knack.

OMG you didn't tell me about the Hakuna Matata part!

::snort::

Clearly we need some Iron Man therapy! I can't let you pass me, after all.

I finally remembered what I was going to say - or at least the general subject matter - are you all set for Saturday? Is there anything I can help with? Then or later?

BTW Thanks again for the geckos. They look awesome. I can't find a formal collective noun (although I did find a reference to a 'Lounge of Lizards" Hee!) so I guess your "Squishy" ideas is as vailda s anything. The Boy thinks it should be a "cult of geckos". Sigh, geek kids, what are ya gonna do?
