One-handed, I soldier on
Jun. 8th, 2008 05:25 pmSurgery went fine, no nausea. Went to lunch and Toy Joy afterwards with the World's Best Niece.
I have about 4 lbs. of bandages/splint on my right hand. They are hot and heavy and annoying. It took some doing, but I showered this morning. I have to keep the hand upright--they gave me a big piece if foam to use to stay upright. I have to keep it upright at night, which means I have to use the foam AND sleep on my back. I hate sleeping on my back. The pain is minor, not worth the vicodin I was prescribed. I can't even go outside for any length of time, as it's 99F, and they frown on getting the bandages soaked in sweat.
As I am VERY right-handed, this has been a real workout for my poor left hand. Hopefully I'll have enough use of my right hand after they take off the bundle tomorrow--I need to wash clothes, for one thing.
And I knew my brother is a good writer; this just proves it.
...this entry took me 25 minutes to type. Oy vey.
