My Big Nerdy Family and I saw Star Trek in IMAX today.

I was hoping to like it, but I looooooooved it, and now I want to see it again, immediately. I haven't loved a movie this much since Raiders of the Lost Ark.

When I saw the Romulan ship, my first thought was "What? The Shadows have invaded the Star Trek universe?"

...yes, I might have shed a tear when Kirk Senior died.

Young Kirk was such a punk. I loved him. I just wanted to hug Young Spock.

Bones is excellent! And boy, this Kirk sure is a hound dog. (Now I want to see a SPN/ST09 crossover with Spock and Sam shaking their heads over Kirk and Dean...)

I was going to complain that we saw the two female characters in their underwear with no reciprocity, but then I remembered Kirk in his underwear, sporting a pretty impressive boner (it looked like).

I think I am in love with Hikaru Sulu. "Fencing." *snorfle*

As a matter of fact, I see a drinking game for the DVD release--Shout-out! Every time there is a shout-out to a previous Trek movie or TV series, take a drink. Except that you'd be trashed by the time the movie was half over.

I was NOT expecting the Spock/Uhuru relationship. The previews led me to believe it would be Captain Horn Dog/Uhuru. I was very pleasantly suprised.

And whew, way to reset a universe! Let's Kill All the Vulcans! I bet Our Spock will be called upon to help repopulate...wonder how Uhuru will feel about that? (And I do wonder what Old Spock beamed into his head. Could make for some very interesting fic.)

Scotty and Checkov are also love. As a matter of fact, if I were any kind of writer, I'd be shipping everyone in the whole damn cast.

Jesus Christ, there was even a shout-out to the damn turtlenecks they wore in the first movie. JJ Abrams, how are you so damn awesome?
