Heroes, Jericho, etc.

lillian13Lost? Who needs Lost? There are much better shows out there. Heroes and Jericho, in my opinion.
OK, I am feeling so much love for Heroes!
Fair warning, I played Champions for a long time, and I still read comic books.
Heroes is starting out like the best Champions game ever. We get the backstory in bits and pieces, and we get their powers the same way. Some are obvious (The indestructible blonde cheerleader* who only wants to be normal--Buffy, anyone?), some are less so (Does Internet-porn-Mom Hulk out? Have a doppelganger?), and the creepy/conspiracy factor isn't overwhelming yet. The dialogue was written by geeks, and it's well-done.
The cast it just great so far. The cop is Weiss! Adrian Pasdar is smarmy and oily, which I love seeing him do, since Profit. And the kid playing the salaryman from Tokyo is superb.
* She's supposedly in Odessa, Texas. But like every other show on TV (see my entry about Supernatural and Texas), they get it wrong. There are no hills (flat as a pancake), no streams (desert), no picturesque farms (see desert), no storm cellars (caliche is about 6 inches below the surface). Since it's on right before Friday Night Lights, I'd assume they'd get these things right. But I digress.
Jericho is also owning me. They're dealing relatively credibly with radioactivity, crappy unused radiation shelters in basements, the obligatory escaped prisoners, and the townsfolk with secret pasts. I'm still not loving Skeet Ulrich, but the supporting cast is making up for it. I think I'm falling for Stanley. "I'm just waiting for my spider powers to kick in." Hee!
