The weather and SGA "Sunday"

It. Is. Sleeting.
There is at lest a 1/4" of ice on my car. It's 30F, though we have a breeze along with the sleet, so according to my weather thing, it's actually 22F.
Eeeeeeeeew.
I know, I know, you guys in Chicago, Boston, wherever are laughing yourselves sick over this. But in Austin? We are not so sanguine. We have lots of overpasses and they are now making noises that they city crews may be out of sand and de-icer soon. And this crap is supposed to continue until at least noon on Wednesday. When I was living in West Texas, you'd get used to it. When I was going to school in Michigan, you got used to it. But it was in the upper 70's on Thursday!
*coughs* Of course, I went outside in a t-shirt, pajama bottoms, and flip-flops to take pictures. What? Just because I don't like cold weather doesn't mean I'm not weirdly physically adapted to it.

Sunday.
Um. Well, I guess we know why they were pushing Carson on us this season. Setting him up, so to speak; in SGA-land this is Gero being subtle. And since we never seem to see anyone but command staff and random Marines, as soon as they named the newredshirts, I mean scientists, I knew they were goners. I'm just surprised they didn't kill the scruffy scientist-guy who has the hots for Elizabeth.
Nice to see they're still writing fanfic. I just wish they were writing better fanfic. What frustrates me about this show is that it has the potential to be so much more. I mean, Heroes could have been just another goofy superhero show, but they've been taking the time to let us know about the characters. We've had more character development in half a season of a NETWORK TV SHOW than in almost 3 full seasons of SGA. I get the distinct impression that they want a plain ol' meat-and-potatoes Sci!Fi! show, but I'm sorry, I expect more these days than what they're giving us. It's getting to where I watch it for the fanfic--it's certainly not for the plots or the plotholes, or the complete lack of character development.
Sigh. Sorry. It's just---they could be doing so much more with this, you know? Like Farscape did. Like Battlestar Galatica is doing. Hell, even Dr. Who is doing these days. And they don't even see it.
