Day one of Wheatsville

Got to the site at about 7am, with my caffeine bribes in tow for the World's Best Niece and the OMG!boyfriend. I have a nice spot, only one booth away from the sidewalk, next to a friend of mine who sells lovely glass objects. We got the car unloaded in record time, and I was set up a little before our scheduled start time of 10am. Normally I put down a squishy foam "floor", but we're in a parking lot where there's been a lot of oil drips and I wasn't sure how that would react with the foam, so I didn't this time. Man, my back is sure telling me about it now. Who would have guessed that 3/4" of foam would make such a difference?

The weather was lovely, about 15F warmer than normal. Winds were light until late in the afternoon, when the cold front came through.  It just cooled down a bit; though it's supposed to be quite a bit cooler tomorrow. (Nothing can be as bad as last year, when it was cold and rainy.) With any luck it won't be too windy tomorrow. Windy is a pain, since things fall over and fall off the tables and it's generally annoying.

My sales were pretty decent--around 50% of my Celtic Festival levels. It's about what I expected, since this is a walk-up street show rather than a paid festival venue. I'm selling more of my mid-to-low-end work at this show as opposed to CF (ony sold one item over $25).
 
I just put another half-dozen coin bracelets in the tumbler and I'll take them out in the morning.  I'm almost out of my enamel moon earrings. And since it's Hanukkah, I'm almost out of bracelets and pendants made from Israeli coins.

Several people came by wearing my work from last year or other shows and it really made me happy! Plus there were many excellent dogs and one of the best exchanges I've ever overheard: "It's me! XXXX of XXX and YYYY!" "Oh my God, you aren't dead!" Bwah-hah-hah-hah-hah!

Off to bed, so I can get some rest before I have to be at the show.
