It was so nice and cool this morning. (Warning: "cool" in this case means "under 70F". Which never seems to happen in September, but we didn't have summer this year here, so...) Opened up the windows, let the apartment air out, watched the cats press their noses to the screens. They are Very Brave until the leaf-blower-wielding guys show up--then they teleport under the bed.
Now I'm in my cubicle, trying to understand why it takes another department weeks to do what we can do in a day or less, even under the enormous workload we'll have until the end of the year. (We just had another ~150 documents dumped on us. Due end of Q4. On top of what we normally do. Time off? Hah!) Good news about that is that the boss is having me step up and be the lead on this process and got me a small bump in pay. Another one of those and maybe I won't have to seek out regular part-time work to start killing my debt!
Plus, the entire tech writing department is going out to watch The Princess Bride and eat this afternoon. It's our summer fling. (I voted for a baseball game, but I'll take this!)
