I knew this would happen...
Jan. 16th, 2008 10:32 pmI've gotten used to working out again, and it I don't get in a workout every other day, I get depressed. Hopefully, setting up for Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors will count... Yes, I get to add another species of geek to my repertoire--the horror movie geek. Hopefully I will get a chance to see Jared Padalecki and Tom Savini. The World's Best Niece is helping out, so hope springs eternal...
Hopefully after this week (where I have no weekend to get anything done, see above), I will have a chance to get used to my new schedule. I am taking 2 classes this semester, and it's ~18 miles to the campus. I have a 5 pm class 2 days and a 7:40 pm class 2 days. I'm also trying desperately to get in to the gym 3-4 days a week, and with any luck I'll keep doing so. I am so damn tired of being fat. Yes, fat, not plump or heavy or chunky. I want to get back down to plump. (Glares at Food Network. Glares at genetics. Glares at my own lazy ass.)
The water heater is replaced, and with a bribe of chocolate cake, the maintenance man also replaced my washing machine hoses, a job that either takes an ambidextrous monkey or someone to haul the machine out of the little room on the patio. And, of course, haul it back. Yay food bribery!
Got my silver in for my jewelry class. One 3" x 6" piece of 20 ga sheet and 1 oz of bezel wire set me back over $77. That's wholesale. I'm just glad I got it before it went over $16 an ounce! (Hmmm, there's a coin show next weekend. Maybe I have some silver coins I can get rid of....) I will learn how to do bezels this semester, no matter what.
I still have to buy my accessories for the welding class--glasses, a welder's hat, and some gloves. There's a deaf guy in the class, with 2 interpreters who switch off duties. Luckily he is a certified welder, so the instructor won't have to teach him the basics (unlike most of the rest of us--mostly arty types, about half women). One of the interpreters is a hoot to watch--his face is wildly expressive.
Tomorrow I have to: buy aforementioned welding supplies (2 stores), get change for the show, buy cat food, and if there is time, some hard solder. Because my large chunk has gone walkabout, and now I'll have to pay a lot more to replace it. sigh. Oh yeah, and work and go to class.
